Chai Cinnamon Rolls ☕️🍂 These Chai cinnamon rolls are my new favorite cinnamon roll flavor! Perfect for a cozy fall morning 🍁 Chai spice mix: 3 tbsp cinnamon 1 tbsp ground ginger 1 tbsp ground cardamom 1/2 tbsp ground all spice 1/2 tbsp ground nutmeg 1/2 tbsp ground clove **Combine then use Tea/Yeast mixture: 3/4 cups milk (180g) 1/2 cup water (120g) 2 chai tea bag 1 tbsp granulated sugar (12.5g) 1 tbsp yeast (9g) Wet ingredients: 1/2 cup granulated sugar (100g) 2 large eggs, room temp 1/2 cup melted butter (113g) 1 tbsp vanilla extract Dry ingredients: 5 cups flour (you may need more or less depending on your kitchen) (650g) 1 1/2 tsp salt **1-2 tbsp chai spice mix Filling: 1/2 cup very softened butter (113g) 1 1/4 cup brown sugar (250g) 2 tbsp chai spice mix 1 1/2 tbsp cinnamon Chai infused cream: 3/4 cup heavy cream (180g) 1 chai tea bag Powder sugar frosting 2 cups powdered sugar (240g) 2 tbsp softened butter (28g) 2-4 tbsp chai infused heavy cream 1/2 tbsp vanilla extract **1-2 tsp chai spice mix Or Cream cheese Frosting: 6 ounces cream cheese 1 cup powdered sugar (120g) 1 tsp vanilla extract 2-4 tbsp chai infused heavy cream **1-2 tsp chai spice mix Chai instructions: 1.) In a pot combine the milk and water and bring to a boil, once boiling turn the heat off and add your tea bags. Allow your tea to seep into the milk mixture for about 5 mins and allow to cool until just warm before use Cinnamon rolls instructions: 1.) In a large bowl combine your warm chai, yeast and sugar, allow to sit for 5 minutes until fluffy (you can skip the wait if you know your yeast is alive). Then whisk in your sugar, butter, eggs and vanilla extract. 2.) Lastly add in your flour and salt then knead for 10-15 minutes (maybe even 20 minutes). Shape the dough into a ball then place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover and rest for 45-60 minutes in a warm place or until doubled in size. (You can also do an overnight rise instead) 3.) Once doubled in size roll out and spread on the very softened butter and sprinkle over the sugar mixture. Roll the dough up and cut them out. Place the rolls into a pan and cover and proof for 30-45 minutes or until doubled in size, then pour over your heavy cream and bake at 350F for 22-32 minutes or until golden brown. (Took me about 30 minutes in a glass 9x13 pan) 4,) Whisk the frosting/glaze recipe then once cooled and slightly warm top your rolls with them and enjoy 🫶 **Tips/Info: - The milk/water mixture will reduce after making the tea and you will end up with about 1 cup of liquid left (I had 242g left) - Pans sizes I recommend are One 9x13, 2 8x8s, or 2 8 inch round - I recommend rolling the dough out to 12 by 18-20 inches - Dough kneading and proofing depends on your kitchen! It took me about 18 minutes to knead my dough, and almost 2 hours to 2nd proof since I left it on the counter to rise and my kitchen was cold around this time - To speed the rise time up, place the dough in a warm place like your oven with the light turned #fallbaking #chai #cinnamonroll #thanksgiving #halloween
