🔴 BREAKING NEWS 🔴 Ivory Hotel in Nansana burnt to ashes - Everything inside lost* _Nansana, Wakiso District | October 20, 2026_ Tragedy has struck Nansana this morning after *Ivory Hotel*, one of the busy hotels along Hoima Road, caught fire and was burnt to ashes. According to eyewitnesses, the fire started in the early hours of Monday morning and spread quickly through the entire building before the fire brigade could arrive. *Everything inside has been lost.* Beds, mattresses, chairs, fridges, TVs, sound system, kitchen equipment and clients' property - all reduced to ashes. The main restaurant with its famous round glass front, the reception, and the accommodation rooms were completely gutted. Locals who rushed to the scene say they tried to save some property but the fire was too strong. They managed to pull out only a few burnt metallic chairs and tables which are now scattered in the compound, as seen in photos from the scene. The cause of the fire is not yet established. Some workers suspect an electrical short circuit, while others point to a possible gas cylinder explosion from the kitchen. Police from Nansana and fire brigade from Wakiso are expected to visit the scene to assess the damage and start investigations. No death has been confirmed yet, but property worth millions of shillings has been lost. The management of Ivory Hotel has not yet released an official statement.
