I think the biggest problem is that one has to be irrational in the life we know we have

When they bring up Pascal's wager they're basically admitting they don't care about wasting their lives believing in lies. That it's just an insurance policy. It's usually the last straw they grasp in these conversations, when every other argument fails

Pascal's wager is based on a false premise. It says there is no cost to believing when there is huge cost. I would have to sever ties with all my LGBTQ+ friends and family members (or constantly tell them they're going to hell). I would have to agonise over which sect to follow and which bible edicts to obey (in the bible, slavery is fine but eating shellfish isn't however, society seems to be more pro shellfish and against slavery). It isn't a no loss option.

Isn’t that the beauty of the future you can say “What if” about Any situation? Okay, maybe you’re indoctrinated into a “religion” that says it already knows the future

Strange how when it comes to Pascal's wager, christians are "one group" but in the daily life they have different believes and beef with each others 😂🤣 "you are not a real christian, only my denomination is the real christianity the rest of you were deceived and will end up in heII" So... "if christians are right" then the vast majority of them will still end up in hell as christianity has 5 major branches and around 10k smaller sects all with different "salvation terms". 😂🤣

As it's 99.9% Christians who try to use Pascal's Wager I usually come back with "What if you picked the right god but the wrong version?" How pissed would a Baptist be if it turned out that Catholics were right all along? Super Hell for you! 😂
