@pdkj.jwelder: A door hinge is two welds. Doing them the same way on hinge 1 and hinge 4,000 is the part that costs you money. On a manual bench the hinge position comes from a stop block, a tape mark, or the operator's eye. Tolerances stack, and by the end of a shift the hinge sits a millimetre further in than at 8am. The weld still holds. The door still hangs crooked. So we build the workstation around the part, not around a catalogue machine. The panel drops onto its own datum pins, the hinge sits in a pocket that only accepts it one way, two clamps close, one button starts the cycle. Same two welds, same two places, every time. What changes on the floor: • Hinge position stops depending on who is on shift • No measuring or marking every third door • One operator loads one station while another welds • The fixture is cut for your hinge and panel thickness, and swaps when the door size changes Typical parts: metal cabinets, electrical enclosures, lockers and fire doors, 1.0 to 2.0mm. How many hinges per door are you welding now, and how are you locating them - a stop block and a tape mark, or a real fixture? 📩 Send us your material and thickness. We'll run a weld test on your actual part and tell you honestly whether this is the right process for it.
