@drewevans_: Six PMs, six schemes, same shortage. Finland picked one plan in 2008 and stuck with it. So is the problem the policy, or the politics? 👇#HousingCrisis #AustralianPolitics #Politics #Finland #Government
Every country is different culturally, socially and economically. What works in Finland may not work the same way in Australia. We should learn from other countries, but adapt their solutions to our own society rather than assume one approach fits all. 👍🏻✌

You are absolutely correct. I agree what you’re saying. Australia needs to learn from countries like Finland. It’s not just about throwing more money at housing or announcing another plan. It’s about having a long-term vision and sticking to it. We’ve had six Prime Ministers since 2008, yet housing remains a major problem.
Australia needs a stronger national housing policy that survives changes of government. Labor, Liberal and the states should agree on long-term housing targets, faster planning approvals, more affordable and social housing, and guaranteed infrastructure funding.
Set clear targets, publish the results, hold governments accountable and make sure homes actually get built.
Housing is a basic necessity, not a political football. Stop changing the name of the plan every time a new Prime Minister comes in. Stop announcing, start building, and finish what you

Politicians in Australia only care about what job they are going to get with big companies they have given government funding too when they were elected. Look at Scott Morrison.

I'm curious... Since all the political figures are elected. The election is based on specific laws. Be it municipal or any other level all the way to national. Do Australians have a say and can they vote to change laws or bi laws?

biggest difference between these countries policies? and what you didn't mention. Finland social housing sector is well funded and prioritised. preventing investors for dictating the market.
