@bbcnews: What do you think your school should be teaching you? #BBCTeenSummit #School #Education #Newcastle #BBCNews

POo :

There are economics classes if your saying it should be a required class then ya I agree but it is available

RC Models Cymru :

GCSE maths only now introduced a 3rd paper on finances . Plus PSHE lessons on life and finances but it’s not enough

No they don't they just care about our outfits and appearances

Jk23 :

gloppy of glipps :

as a teacher, most students are behind in core subjects and already refuse to engage, if i did a weekly classes on taxes and mortgages maybe 1 out of 100 students would turn up. and they'd be the students who if the class wasn't offered they'd go home and search it themselves

M ☆ :

The education system is there to create the future workforce obedient and poor to be dependant on a corrupt system

For a reason.

FloatingBadger :

I wish I had been taught about tax, student loans, general cost of living etc. it’s a massive issue that nobody is taught it

DrRosenRosen :

If kids nowadays can’t learn this on their own, it’s their fault.

Erm___ok :

Completely agree with that first young man. Social skills amongst young people now are shocking. They can’t hold a conversation. It’s not their fault, I blame technology and social media. They need to be able to network and do a good interview if they are ever to get a job.

quietlure2 :

rajivkanani :

Most people leave school and they don’t know what they want to do and there isn’t jobs after college or university.

Shazam :

Schools are still teaching from the structure of the 70s it needs serious overhaul, by competent people not by random MPs who know absolutely nothing about the subject!!!
