started working in childcare a couple of years ago, and because of my mum, i’d always feel bad taking more than one day off. so whenever i was sick for my first year, i’d take one day off and come back the next day still sick. my manager at the time HATED me, so she pulled me in for a meeting, accusing me of “faking” my sickness and threatened to fire me if i took anymore sick leave, even though she has said that a lot of people get sick all the time in their first year working in childcare !? a week later, i got food poisoning and had to take a week off. she said she was going to talk to me when i came back, but i was so afraid that i just quit (that workplace was super toxic anyways, and im pretty sure i was getting sick so often because of the stress 😅). anyways, she’s now fired and she had her whole family working there as well, and they’re all fired now too.
