You don't teach both mistake and correct way of saying, at the same time. you'll put confusion in students mind while speaking

The United Nations General Assembly has backed a resolution promoting maps that represent the relative size of the world’s continents more accurately, with the African-led initiative specifically highlighting how Africa has been represented on traditional world maps. The resolution passed 164–1, with six countries abstaining. The map being promoted is known as the Equal Earth projection. Unlike the familiar Mercator projection, it preserves the relative area of continents much more accurately. This means Africa appears significantly larger in comparison with Europe, North America and Greenland. For example, Africa is actually about 14 times larger than Greenland, despite the two appearing much closer in size on a Mercator map. For many Africans, the issue goes beyond geography. Supporters argue that maps influence how people understand the world, and that seeing Africa represented closer to its actual size can challenge long-standing perceptions of the continent as smaller or less significant. Togo, which led the initiative, described the campaign as being about how Africa and other regions are represented globally, not simply about changing a graphic. Critics, however, argue that no flat map can perfectly represent a spherical Earth. Equal Earth improves the accuracy of land-area comparisons, but it still distorts some shapes and distances. The Mercator projection also wasn't originally designed to make political statements about which countries were important — it was developed for navigation and remained popular because of its practical usefulness. The United States was the only country to vote against the resolution, calling the initiative part of a broader ideological project. The resolution is also not legally binding and does not ban the Mercator projection. Instead, it encourages governments, schools, institutions and technology companies to consider Equal Earth and other equal-area projections when accurately showing relative land size is important. So the bigger story isn't that “the world has physically changed” or that one map is now mandatory. It's about how we represent the world — and whether the maps people grow up seeing give them an accurate impression of the size and place of Africa and other regions. "Gratitude is a superpower. A little over a year ago, l felt healthier than ever. I stayed active with basketball, jiu jitsu and weightlifting, ran around with my two kids, found balance at work and ate well. Every few months, I saw red streaks of blood on my stool, but it was rare. I mentioned it to my GP at a blood draw, and she recommended a colonoscopy. I almost didn't go through with it - why would I? I felt great. I didn't expect a stage III rectal cancer diagnosis at 38. No family history or other risk factors. The weeks between finding the tumor and staging were their own challenge. As I learned more, the treatment path became clearer, shifting the unknown to the known challenges of treatment. I started FOLFOX on my 39th birthday in July 2025. It worked, and I achieved a pathologic complete response. After 12 rounds and LAR surgery that removed about two feet of my large intestine, I had clear scans and blood work by April 2026 and moved into surveillance. I was carried by my communities, my wife and children, my medical teams, and a commitment to finding opportunity in suffering. This experience gave me so much. It's easier than you'd think to be grateful that it happened. I'm a better person because of it. Most of us don't know how we'd respond to this kind of challenge. We get chances every day to practice discipline, courage, wisdom, patience and kindness. Tell me how you respond in ordinary moments, and I'll tell you how you'll likely respond when the big ones arrive. I thought I was grateful before this. But watching people step up when I needed them most and having to ask for help gave me confidence. Now begins the path of recovery, armed with the wisdom that the path is the reward and struggle is a never-ending opportunity for growth. As I turned 40 last month, I can see it much more clearly: gratitude is a superpower." - Andy G. In need of support?
