the things of this world are temporary. The excitement fades, possessions wear away, and human approval changes, but the Lord and His truth remain. I do not want to spend my life chasing what burns out while neglecting the One who offers eternal life through Jesus Christ. I am learning that not everything that brings me temporary happiness will bring peace to my soul. Sin may promise satisfaction, but it can leave me burdened with guilt and distant from God. The world may promise fulfillment, but no amount of success, pleasure, or recognition can replace a genuine relationship with Jesus. This does not mean every earthly blessing is worthless; it means I must never make temporary things the foundation of my life. I want to invest my heart in what lasts: faith, love, righteousness, mercy, and obedience to the Lord. When the things I once depended on begin to fade, I want my hope to remain firm in Christ. I would rather build my life upon His truth than spend my days trying to preserve something that was never meant to last forever. Lord Jesus, help me recognize the things in my life that are temporary and teach me not to make them my greatest treasure. Free me from the desires that promise happiness but draw my heart away from You. When I am tempted to chase worldly pleasures, remind me that nothing can replace the peace and hope I find in Your presence. Teach me to value what is eternal, to walk in righteousness, and to use the blessings I receive with gratitude and wisdom. When something I once depended on fades away, help me remember that my foundation is in You. I do not want to waste my life pursuing things that cannot save my soul.
