#cinnamonroll #recipes #fall #autumn #cooking

🥛 The Dough
500 g flour
7 g active dry yeast or 20 g fresh yeast
70 g sugar
1 egg
240 ml lukewarm milk
70 g melted butter
A pinch of salt
🤎 The Cinnamon Filling
80 g softened butter
100 g brown sugar
2–3 teaspoons ground cinnamon
✨ The Secret Ingredient
- 100 ml heavy cream (double cream)
🤍 Vanilla Icing
100 g powdered sugar (icing sugar)
20 g melted butter
1–2 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
👩🍳 Instructions
1. Prepare the dough
Warm the 240 ml of milk. It should be lukewarm, not hot.
Mix the milk with the yeast and 1 teaspoon of sugar. Leave to stand for 5–10 minutes.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, remaining sugar and salt.
Add the egg, the milk and yeast mixture, and the melted butter.
Knead for 8–10 minutes. The dough should be soft and slightly sticky.
Cover the bowl and leave the dough to rise for 1–1½ hours, or until it has doubled in size.
2. Make the filling
Mix the brown sugar and cinnamon together in a small bowl.
3. Shape the cinnamon rolls
Gently punch down the dough to release the air.
Roll it out into a rectangle approximately 40 × 30 cm.
Spread the 80 g of softened butter evenly over the entire surface.
Sprinkle the cinnamon and brown sugar mixture on top.
Roll the dough tightly into a long log.
Cut it into 10–12 equal pieces.
4. Second rise
Arrange the rolls in a greased baking dish, leaving a little space between them.
Cover and leave to rise for another 30–45 minutes.
5. The secret to extra-soft cinnamon rolls 🤫
Just before baking, pour the 100 ml of heavy cream between the cinnamon rolls and lightly over the tops.
6. Bake
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) conventional or 170°C (340°F) fan-assisted.
Bake for approximately 20–25 minutes.
⚠️Don't overbake them! They should be lightly golden on top while remaining soft and fluffy in the centre.
7. Make the vanilla icing
Mix the powdered sugar and melted butter together.
Gradually add the milk.
Add the vanilla extract.
Mix until the icing is smooth and creamy.
Spread the icing over the cinnamon rolls while they are still warm.
🤤 The result
Soft, fluffy cinnamon rolls with a gooey cinnamon filling and a creamy, slightly runny vanilla icing.
