BENJAMIN CARR EXETER CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE JAILED A dangerous predator with a history of targeting young girls has been handed an extended prison sentence after launching a brazen sexual assault beside Exeter Cathedral. 33-year-old Benjamin Carr, of Howell Road, Exeter, carried out a predatory series of physical violations against a 16-year-old girl. The Offences and Trial Details The court heard that Carr and an associate callously plied the teenager with vodka before cornering her in the alcoves of the historic landmark. Carr was convicted at Exeter Crown Court of inciting sexual activity without consent and attempted assault by penetration, after CCTV captured the terrified victim running away hysterically. Sentences and Court Orders Judge Peter Johnson sentenced Carr to five and a half years in prison, plus an extra five years on extended licence due to the significant risk he poses to the public. He was also issued a strict new Sexual Harm Prevention Order and placed on the sex offenders register for the remainder of his life.
