Applied to 120+ jobs and not heard anything the job I was at I started in august on night shift ended up on day shift not even a month later they cut night shift and started cutting people off day shift because of too many people not enough work for everyone to do.

I have experience in heavy equipment operating, general contract work, forklift experience ETC as well as all of my necessary firefighter qualifications and rescue squad qualifications. The only job I could get after applying to over 532 jobs was a warehouse on the overnight crew

y'all it's not easy for everyone to just apply and get a job. I remember before getting my first job I applied to literally everywhere. even went as far as to applying to places 30 minutes away or more and it took me 3 months to land a job that doesn't even pay minimum wage

I also feel like a lot of people aren’t willing to start from the bottom because when I was first getting jobs, I got paid under the minimum wage, but I just kept on doing my job right and would become someone necessary so they wouldn’t want me to leave and I get a raise And I always end up getting paid way more than minimum wages within less than a year and why I always have a job and money and I say this because I have met people and tell people to do it and I’m like no they pay too little the work is too hard, and then you will be poor and struggling forever

I applied for SO MANY JOBS in the span of 3 months and eventually had a caretaking place give me an interview. Told them I had experience in caretaking from taking care of my sibling 2 of which are autistic, multiple other children with disabilities and volunteered some days at a nursing home when I lived in Tennessee. They didnt even call me back😭

Can confirm, even in the trades it was hard to get a job I worked 30-40 hours a week for an entire year while simultaneously going and once I finished trade school I sent out 60+ applications in the first 2 months and got 0 responses I was just lucky to have an older guy in my class gave me a recommendation for a job he didn’t want

I have never had trouble getting a job, I didnt go to college. The best advice I can give is check up on your applications every other day, and make yourself memorable. If you can make the hiring manager laugh thats a plus. Physically come in to the business you want to get hired with. You want them to remember your face, find out their names and call them by it when you come in. Become personable.

29 thought about leaving my current employer and before I could put in my two weeks I had another job offer making 3x the pay before I could even tell my boss I was quitting I’m also a full time college student. People in Gen Z aren’t getting jobs because they lack the basic work experience employers want to see and or getting degree that don’t have a lot of opportunities for growth
