I was 7 when the News Flash was shown on the TV saying it had happened. Cliff Michelmoor in tears reporting from Aberfan. Stuck with me for the rest of my life. My heart goes out to you all

It made me cry. The negligence incompetence and completely insensitive arrogant attitude of the government and coal board ofthe time was disgusting. I can't imagine what the bereaved families were going through. Extremely dignified and strong community 🥰

my uncles sister in law was found in her home and cuddling her 2 children as they were on the way to school. my dad was one of the miners who had finished a 12 hour shift and drove up to help dig the coal slurry to get to the children. ,♥️xx
