@saracpaysinger: Sahara Ray, the Australian-American model and swimwear designer who was romantically linked to Justin Bieber, has died aged 34, leaving behind a nine-month-old daughter. Her family told TMZ: "She passed away last night surrounded by family at the hospital. She was so loved." No cause of death has been given. Ray, who was born in Torquay, Victoria and was the daughter of big wave surfer Tony Ray, grew up surfing and spending three months of every winter on the north shore of Hawaii while her father competed, before giving it up as a teenager to study at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in Los Angeles and launching her own label, Sahara Ray Swim. She first made global headlines in August 2016 when she was photographed skinny dipping with Bieber, and was also linked to Jordan Barrett and Cody Simpson, and known for her friendship with Lottie Moss. In May 2024 she revealed she had been diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome after being hit by a drunk driver travelling at 80mph that April, leaving her paralysed from the upper thighs down and reliant on a wheelchair and walker: "My whole life changed in an instant."
