Correct me if I’m wrong, but there’s more to Treebeard’s words when he angrily says “A wizard should know better.” Seeing that Saruman is a Miar (equivalent of an angle or arc-angel) he knows who created those forest, and the fact he willfully destroyed them shows why Treebeard is rightfully furious.

Always found it hilarious that Treebeard and the rest of the ents firmly believed they were marching to their death but wanted to make a last stand, knowing that they’re outmatched. Only to realize that they had a bigger edge than they realized and proceeded to roll though an orc stronghold faster than an NFL team against a middle school team
