It’s okay to have preferences, but you never know what someone has gone through, and what they went through may have led them to that point, or maybe they were in a stage of life where religion didn’t matter to them, but they have changed. Everyone has a reason, and if Allah can forgive us because we mercilessly put our heads down and seek forgiveness him, then who are we to not forgive others? With that being said, it’s very important that all measures are taken to get to know a person before you make any decision. And it’s very important to seek Allah swt’s guidance during such a process.
