@dgm.america: Your AI doesn't read letters. It reads chunks called tokens, and in a sentence "strawberry" is a single chunk. I ran a small model on my laptop and tested six letter-level jobs. Every answer here is real. The six: 1. Counting letters. "How many r's in strawberry?" It said one; there are three. Make it spell the word out first: letter by letter, it counted three. 2. Picking a letter. Mississippi is one chunk too. It said the 6th letter is "i"; it's "s". Asked to number the letters, it wrote 15. The word has 11. 3. Reversing a word. It handed "strawberry" straight back, then wrote "berrystraw": it moved its own chunks, not the letters. Check initials, acronyms and codes by eye. 4. Spell-checking. It said "definately" is spelled right. It sees two familiar chunks, so nothing looks wrong. Check names, brands and product codes yourself. 5. Word counts. Asked for an 8-word tagline, it wrote 6. Number the words, or count them before you post. 6. Character limits. Asked for a 50-character tweet, it wrote 66. It saw 15 chunks, not 66 characters, so asking it to count again won't help. Use a character counter, or have the AI write code that counts. Save this before you hand your AI a limit.
