@visitusparks: Forget the scenic overlooks for a minute. How about watching a rocket launch from a park? Imagine spending the afternoon by the water, looking out over the horizon, and suddenly watching a rocket blast into space. You don't need to visit a space center to experience it, either. Some public parks offer incredible places to watch a launch. Here are four worth knowing about: Canaveral National Seashore, FL – Playalinda Beach offers some of the closest public views of launches from Kennedy Space Center, when access is permitted. Space View Park, FL – Located in Titusville, this waterfront park overlooks the launch area and celebrates America's space exploration history. Beattie Park, CA – A quieter place in Lompoc to watch rockets climb into the sky from nearby Vandenberg Space Force Base. Robert Reed Waterfront Park, VA – A waterfront viewing spot on Chincoteague Island for launches from NASA's Wallops Flight Facility. Of course, rocket launches don't always happen on schedule. Weather, technical delays, and temporary park closures can change plans, so check launch schedules and viewing access before traveling. Have you ever watched a rocket launch in person? Where did you watch from? Was it as incredible as you'd imagined? We'd love to hear your stories and see your launch photos in the comments! #RocketLaunch #SpaceExploration #NationalParks #VisitUSParks @NASA @SpaceX @Space Exploration @nasa
