@filmenthusiast: Did you know that Paul Atreides is technically related to Agamemnon? “Atreides” literally means “son of Atreus,” the king of Mycenae whose son Agamemnon led the Greeks at Troy. Frank Herbert made it canon: in God Emperor of Dune, Leto II says his family traces its line straight back to the House of Atreus. And Herbert didn’t pick that family by accident. The House of Atreus is cursed in Greek myth. Atreus fed his brother his own sons, and Agamemnon sacrificed his daughter to sail for Troy, then was murdered by his wife when he got home. A dynasty of great rulers doomed by its own bloodline. Sound familiar? So Nolan’s The Odyssey, with Benny Safdie as Agamemnon, is sort of a Dune prequel.

there's another Agamemnon. he was a cymek a human who lived hundreds years. his original name is Andrew Skourus and his sun Vorian was the first Atreides. Andrew was from the Earth, he was a great fan of greek mythology. and Vorian was one of the heroes of the batlerian jihad
