My Marine infantry platoon was part of the largest helo insertion since vietnam while in Afghanistan. We were invited to join by the NATO/ISAF countries which planned, organized, and coordinated the entire mission. The briefing was done by British, Irish, and Scottish officers. One platoon of Americans. Dozens upon dozens of platoons from our allies.
