@flatburgersflatbuns: 📍 pendek fried rice this coffeeshop stall is a jack of all trades, and somehow a master of all too 😆 from their flavour-packed fried rice to comforting bowls of fish beehoon soup, everything i tried was absolutely delicious! 🤤 the secret lies in their chef’s wok skills 👨‍🍳 while preparing our food, the fire was RAGING, heat was BLASTING, arms were WORKING 🔥 he looked as though he was dancing with the wok hahaha and i could already tell that the food was going to be PACKED with flavour 😋 it’s hard to rank our favourite dishes, but the general consensus was that it was a close tie between the stir-fried beef horfun and their signature salted egg fried rice. their fried rice had that savouriness from the salted egg, brininess from the tobiko and sweetness from the fresh crabmeat. other than flavour, i loved the mouthfeel of the fried rice! every grain was distinct and separate, which is the exact texture that i enjoy. truly worthy of being their signature dish 👍 i thought this was gonna be my 🔝 dish after the first bite, but the beef horfun made me rethink 😆🤣 maybe it’s cuz i’m a noodle lover, but this was amazing too!! there was a generous amount of wok hei, and the beef was crazy tender.. omg i’m usually not a huge fan of beef cuz of how gamey and tough it can be, but i demolished this hahaha their concoction of sauces also had a good balance of sweetness & savouriness, without being too overwhelming! for those who want something a bit more comforting, their fish soup is the way to go. the broth was creamy and milky, yet still carried that distinct wok hei aroma hahah crazy right! super fragrant and rich, and the fish slices were incredibly tender 🐟 overall, every dish i tried surpassed my expectations ⭐ i’m glad they’re located at amk, which isn’t too far from my house cuz i can foresee myself visiting again whenever i’m craving a solid plate of horfun/fried rice 🤤 wokhey, who? 🔥 #sgfood #sgfoodie #sgfoodies #sgtiktok #fyp @Pendek Fried Rice
