Malcolm Gladwell wrote a book about successful and rich people and every single one of them got a helping hand on to the road to riches. Not one completely did it on their own. Parents who had worked hard for their education, gave them money to start a business etc.

There’s a fundamental difference between working hard and working smart. You can work incredibly hard your entire life and still remain poor. I could spend 22 hours a day cleaning hotel toilets and never become wealthy. Hard work alone doesn’t guarantee financial success. Working smart can create wealth, but that often requires access to opportunities, resources and education. The idea that poor people are poor because they don’t work hard enough is sheer nonsense. The reality is that many people simply aren’t afforded the same tools and opportunities to turn their hard work into financial success.
