@howitworkssss: When someone has a serious accident, medical emergency, or needs urgent transfer to a specialized hospital, an emergency call is made. If ground ambulances cannot reach quickly or the patient is in a remote or mountainous area, a helicopter air ambulance is dispatched. A medical team onboard (usually a pilot, a doctor, and a paramedic) provides treatment during the flight. The helicopter can land in difficult terrain such as mountains, highways, or fields. Patients are stabilized and transported quickly to the nearest suitable hospital, often within minutes, which is especially important in life-threatening situations or in hard-to-reach regions like the Alps.
