I wish this wasn’t becoming so common. Another dog showed up at my house today. He wasn’t in terrible condition but he was definitely thin enough that his ribs were showing. What stood out even more than his appearance was the fear in his eyes. He wanted the food. He just didn’t know if he could trust the person offering it. Every time I moved, he backed away. He watched every step I took. But eventually, hunger outweighed his fear. Think about that for a second. He was hungry enough to take a chance on a human, even though every instinct in his body told him not to. I don’t know this dog’s story, and I won’t pretend to. Maybe he hasn’t had much positive human interaction. Maybe he’s been on his own for a while. Maybe he’s been let down by people. Whatever his past is, it’s clear that trust doesn’t come easily for him. I’m so sick of seeing animals pay the price for human choices. Dogs are some of the most loyal creatures on this earth. They don’t care what you have or don’t have. They don’t judge you. They simply want food, safety, and someone who will show them kindness. And somehow, even after being failed.. so many of them still find the strength to trust again. Kindness goes a long way. A bowl of food, fresh water, a calm voice and a little patience may not seem like much to us but to a scared dog, it can mean everything. Proverbs 12:10 says, “The righteous care for the needs of their animals.” I believe God gave us the responsibility to care for His creation, not cast it aside. Tonight, this sweet boy has a full belly, fresh water, and one less reason to be afraid. I pray that one day more people understand that the way we treat animals says a lot about the condition of our hearts. ❤️ #fyp #fypシ #rescue #dogsoftiktok
