@ohiorunsboxing1: In my opinion Stevenson might have thought he was going to hit an easy lick with Dana White, assuming that signing with a new promoter who’s inexperience in the boxing business would mean more favorable matchmaking and easier fights with big paydays. But that mindset eventually backfire during this Devin Haney negotiations. We saw something similar when Canelo signed that massive 11-fight deal with DAZN reportedly worth over $300 million years ago. There was a lot of money involved, but the matchmaking didn’t always deliver the toughest challenges fans wanted to see which Canelo took advantage of the inexperience of a new company who had billons of dollars but knew nothing about how Boxing worked. Dana White might be new to the boxing world, but he’s no stranger to combat sports. He’s built the UFC around making the biggest fights possible, and his goal in boxing is to bring that same competitive mindset to the sport. If Stevenson thought he was signing with Dana White to take the easier route, he might have misread the situation completely. Dana has built his reputation around putting the best against the best in UFC and that was his main objective going into this Boxing business. I knew it was strong possibility Dana was going to start bumping heads with these diva fighters avoiding real smoke to take on easy fights.
