There was a guy I worked with, put in several PTO requests because I got a temp teaching job in CHINA! (We lived in California) the denied every request. This was started before I started working there. Well enough time in advance. They terminated him for not calling out while he was gone.

And I took off 4 days to go to Comic Con 7 months in advance. I got promoted to third manager. 2 weeks before the con the 2 managers above me tried telling me I couldn't go because they wanted to go work The event cause my store had a booth. I told them they could go but I aint coming to work cause I paid $500 to go and my time off was approved . they weren't gonna compensate me my money , and they wasn't gonna fire me , they needed people.
