🚨 You don’t have to excuse what Christa Pike did to care about what happens to her. 🚨 Apparently, that’s a hard concept for some people. There’s an important development in her case that deserves attention. On October 7, a judge ordered Tennessee officials to preserve evidence connected to the failed September 30 execution attempt. That includes records and materials that could help establish what happened inside that chamber. Preserving that evidence matters. The public deserves answers, and accountability shouldn’t stop at the prison gates. I talk to Christa every day. Those conversations are personal to me, but I’m also going to be careful to separate what she shares with me from what has been publicly confirmed. Caring about her doesn’t mean every detail of her recovery belongs on the internet. I’m not asking anyone to forget Colleen, excuse the crime, or dismiss her family’s grief. Colleen’s life mattered. Her family’s pain matters. I can recognize that and still believe Christa’s life has value. My faith doesn’t let me decide that mercy only counts when it’s offered to someone easy to love. Jesus didn’t put an asterisk beside loving your neighbor. You can disagree with me. But wishing suffering on someone because they oppose an execution doesn’t make your argument stronger. It makes me wonder what happened to the compassion you’re demanding from everybody else. I believe people can change. I believe accountability and humane treatment can exist together. And I don’t believe a person’s worst act has to be the only thing we ever acknowledge about their life. God isn’t finished with her. I’m going to keep praying, asking questions, and speaking up. If you support Christa, you’re more than welcome to join our group Christa Pike | Support, Updates & Advocacy. We have a strong admin and moderator team, and we will not allow negativity or rude comments. Any such comments will be deleted, and the person responsible will be blocked immediately. Please pray for Christa’s recovery, for Colleen’s family, and for everyone still carrying the pain of this case. There is room in those prayers for all of them. 🙏❤️ #ChristaPike #ChristaPikeUpdate #JusticeAndMercy #FaithOverFear
