Juli :
I’m sure some people will be surprised to see “Heart In a Cage” ranked at the very bottom. I just can’t understand what makes this song appealing at all. Well, I do understand that it’s a good song, but my personal taste leans toward the kind of simple, fast-paced music that’s practically synonymous with The Strokes, like “Hard To Explain,” “12:51,” and “Happy Ending.”
“Heart In a Cage,” on the other hand, is more on the heavier side, leaning toward grunge or punk. If you listen to a wide range of music, including that kind of stuff, I can see why you’d think it’s a great song. But I genuinely don’t like that style of music, and even when judging it within The Strokes’ discography, I still rank it pretty low.
By the way, I rate “Juicebox” highly because I feel like it’s an incredibly well-crafted song 😛
