Ridiculous! Changing a state's name does nothing but cost taxpayers money to pay the cost of everything that goes into a name change: court filings, completion of documents officiating the change, new name signage and letterhead throughout the state, updating postal systems with the new name & so on. Changing a state's name is immaterial to creating economic improvement. A name change doesn't cause employers to raise wages, stores to reduce prices, or new business to open. The policies of the state's government are what matter when it comes to improving economic opportunities.
