@lumen_ielts: 3 IELTS Writing myths that might be holding you back! There’s a lot of misleading advice about IELTS Writing out there. ❌ Myth 1: You need to have a “smart” or sophisticated opinion to get a high score. ✅ IELTS examiners don't assess how intelligent, original, or impressive your opinion is. They assess how well you address the question, develop your position, and support your ideas with relevant explanations and examples. A simple, logical argument that's clearly explained is much better than a complicated one you struggle to develop. ❌ Myth 2: The longer your essay, the higher your score. ✅ You need to write at least 250 words for Task 2, but writing 350–400 words doesn't automatically mean a higher band score. In fact, unnecessarily long essays can lead to repetition, irrelevant details, and more language mistakes. Focus on developing your ideas fully rather than simply increasing your word count. ❌ Myth 3: You should never use “I” in IELTS Writing. ✅ This is a misconception! In opinion essays, it's perfectly acceptable to write I believe, I would argue, or In my opinion. These expressions can help you communicate your position clearly. Just remember that repeating "I think" in every paragraph isn't necessary. #IELTS #ieltswriting
