I think if a game doesn't disclose that they used AI and you buy it, then it comes out later they did, you should get a refund no matter how many hours were played. I DO NOT WANT AI.

Also worried because one indie dev said they had to cancel releasing their demo because of AI game sniping (some a-hole using AI to reverse engineer their demo into a full game and releasing it before them). So now I'm worried about that happening to all these demos

I've started dipping my toes into making a game in godot. I haven't got to assets yet but I'm not sure what I'm gonna do when I get there. I'm definitely not gonna use AI but I can't draw for shit.

I was also deterred by the slop. When I click on a game, the first thing I do is scroll down to see the AI disclaimer. Don't even look at the videos or the description before doing that. I ignore games and developers that use AI when possible, but at some point it gets exhausting

Hey! I'm Mike, one of the Devs working on a game called Littermates. It's about a group of raccoons that steal a garbage. We are in this steam next fest and we are fighting against the mountain of AI slop with our made by hand little indie game. It's got full Voice Over for all the narrative recorded by voice acted by us, we photograph all the dirty cardboard ourselves for our "paw-made" UI, and we stream our development regularly. No AI, no slop, just love and care from a small self funded indie team. We'd love if you checked it.

It’s not a “no AI” filter it’s a quality filter. Let’s use AI to rank games on a dozen qualities. If you want to use AI as a tool to accelerate your game build that’s ok, but you shouldn’t just be able to accelerate producing crap without consequences

Any of the recent "Tidy Up" games or the Haystack/Coin games are all made with Claude. Just for everyone's awareness. People getting instant rich from Vibecoding a game thst took less than a day and a couple hundred tokens.

if you go to settings > store > exclude from my store > Tags to exclude. you can add whatever tags to exclude and steam will also suggest some based on what you have marked as ignore on the store.

I don’t think they should be allowed to put a price of the game if it’s fully made with Ai. Because they didn’t do shit so they shouldn’t be allowed to charge and if they do they can be sued for scamming 🤷♀️

In the past Steam Next Fest to me was akin to E3, it was always exciting to see what was coming out. Now I'm scrolling through AI slop, reading entire game descriptions (for a Demo) to determine whether or not AI was used, it has become a chore. I don't care about the AI bros, they can eat up all the slop they want, but I'm not settling for games with no soul

People who use ai for even simple things like thumbnails are so entitled. Like I’ve bought games where the thumbnail is just text on a color. I don’t care if your “waiting on profits so you can hire a real artist”

whenever a new game drops I always scroll to the bottom to see if it has an AI generated text at the bottom then I immediately click ignore

most games will have a little bit of AI. Not all games with some AI are bad. If you don't like it, just vote it down, we already have the rating system.

steam is preparing for article 50, where you have to disclose if the product used ai in its creation and so on. there is no proposal yet to have filter method. same issue is on Etsy, Amazon and so on

There is a browser add on to filter ai games (you can still see the game but it is marked as ai without having to click) - I don’t remember what its called right now but its been super helpful
