@abbaloloqa2: Are they really the love of your life? If someone is damaging your mental health and leaving you in pain, it’s time to reassess. You might be in love with a dream that never existed. Let's discuss how to let go and find closure. #attachmenttheory #selfdiscovery #mentalwellness #relationshipadvice #emotionalhealth
I got out after I lived with him for 2 1/2 years. Verbal and emotional abuse. I know who I am and he would never even have conversations with me about what needed to change in our relationship he made me believe it was all in my head so I got out. Bought my own place I’m done

I agree with you. But the challenge is you can cognitively recognize it wasn’t real and recognize the psychological abuse. But knowing and letting go can be two different things. Because despite recognition it doesn’t immediately eliminate the trauma bond, the hyper-vigilance and psychological introject. And that can keep you stuck. Some research equates being addicted to a person (trauma bond) can be equivalent to being addicted to heroin.
