@k.c.greenwood.author: I use AI just like everyone else on this app in some fashion. It is a tool but not to replace the author in any way. #ragebaiter #ai #indieauthor #debate
this! it's a TOOL! the integrity of an author should never be judged simply for using a tool to assist them in their journey.

THIS!!! The AI witch hunt needs to stop. Just because we use AI as a tool doesn’t mean it writes for us.

thank you. it's refreshing to see someone else share my philosophy on AI as a writer.

Same here. ChatGPT has helped a lot with grammar editing, fact-checking, and other stuff. It's just a tool that some seem to be afraid of.

Hearing you only use it as a tool and not to write for you

I use it more than Google to look up random ass facts like how fast can a helicopter go from point A to point B and what are different words for the color blue. 😆

I wouldn't have been able to get my website and other sites I use linked without AI answering my 500 dumb questions. It's also helped me figure out Amazon Ads, keyword strategies etc. It's not going away so why should we pretend it doesn't exist because it *can* be abused?

tbh I wouldn't even care if someone worked off of something AI came up with bc of writers block. And if anyone's like "that might as well be all written by AI it's worthless!!!" buddy... wait till you figure out that your first draft doesn't matter and the real work of writing is the 4-6 drafts and revisions you do after that lmao

ChatGPT helped me figure out how to outline. No shame.

I used it to determine how many moon cycles my made up planet would have with two moons, days that are 26.3 hours long and 386 days a year. I also asked if my FMCs job as an astrobiologist would be possible for her age and where astrology conventions happen. I also asked it how bioluminescence works.

I have to use AI for my job everyday. I use it in my personal life some. I use it to figure out (quickly) how long it would take to get from point A to B if my FMC walked X miles and then drove the rest. But I never use it to write for me. If I did that, I could never have true pride in my work.

I used it to calculate a spread of infection based on how the disease is spread, and where it started. This isn’t even used directly in my book, I just wanted to see it so I had it in the back of my head to make things as realistic as possible for something that never happened. I also used it to reorganize my new classroom

It’s a great tool. I write the scenes and will be like hey make that into a person so I can make sure the description matches in my head. It does. It’s a tool.

The platform we are trying to promote our stories on uses AI to determine the algorithm... it's here to stay. A lot of my family members are dead set against it but love to get on TikTok and create content using the bold glamour filter 😆 I think it's hilarious I don't say anything though 😬
