After becoming friends with the child on Snapchat, Connor Ormston coldly responded "nice" when he found out how old she was. The perpetrator's misbehaviour was discovered, according to Newcastle Crown Court, when the victim's mother saw her daughter becoming "secretive" and getting texts. According to prosecutor Liam O'Brien, "She examined her phone and observed several Snapchat messages and videos transmitted by the defendant."She decided to talk to her daughter as a result. After writing down the questions and responses she received, she taped a voice conversation on WhatsApp.After that, she contacted the police and provided them with the evidence she had collected. In a toy store in the Metro Centre in Gateshead, Connor Ormston was taken into custody while declaring, "I've done nowt wrong." Connor Ormston, 31, of Dorrington Road, Fawdon, Newcastle, confessed to three charges of causing or encouraging a child to participate in sexual conduct, one charge of causing or inciting a child to see a sexual act, and sexual communication with a child. He was given a five-year, eight-month prison sentence by Judge Gavin Doig, along with a sexual harm prevention order and lifetime sex offender registration. Connor Ormston told the child he was sixteen, according to the court, and the Snapchat exchange soon became improper. "It started with the defendant sending a picture of himself in his boxer shorts and quickly progressed to him sending images of his penis," Mr O'Brien stated. "Over time, the defendant started requesting that she send explicit photos and videos." The child complied with messages and FaceTime video chats requesting explicit content. "The complainant was truthful about her age; she told the defendant she was nine, about to turn ten," Mr O'Brien continued. "Nice" was his cold response to that. Additionally, the defendant instructed the youngster to keep their conversations "our little secret."
