@waitwhatdelb: Hot take: I think Zone 2 running is overrated. Not Zone 2 itself — I’m a big fan of easy aerobic work. I just don’t think all of it needs to come from running. If I’m already running 2–3 times a week, I’d rather get some of my Zone 2 work on the bike, rower or SkiErg. You’re still building your aerobic base, but with way less impact on your joints and less pounding on your legs. For me, that matters because I still want to lift, keep muscle on and actually recover between sessions. Adding more easy miles just because it’s “Zone 2” can still add fatigue. The goal is to keep the effort easy enough that you can hold a conversation and stay controlled. Don’t turn it into another conditioning workout 😂 Keep it Zone 2. Don’t race the calories. The whole point is steady aerobic work without adding a bunch more impact and fatigue. Running still has a huge place in my training. I just don’t think every aerobic session needs to be more miles. #Zone2Training #HybridTraining #AerobicTraining #RunningTips #StrengthAndConditioning
