@antonia_investing: Nearly nine in ten over-66s voted at the last election. Among 18 to 24-year-olds, it was about two in three. That gap helps explain why pensioner policies like the triple lock are so hard to touch, and why the Winter Fuel Payment cut didn’t last. Some say older voters have too much sway, others say they’ve earned it by showing up. This is for educational purposes only. Do pensioners have too much influence, or do younger people just need to vote? Tell me in the comments. So the issue is compulsory voting, yet the political parties rely on apathy to exist.

Do remember that the last general election had one of the lowest turnouts and the one will probably be even lower as people of all ages realise that politicians are just a bunch of liars.

Isn't it grim that policy is decided by a small group of people (MPs) making short term decisions trying to secure their jobs. Rather than doing what's genuinely better for the country now and in the future.
