im persuaded by the intrinsic nature argument for panpsychism that claims we understand what matter *does* but not what it *is*, and what it *is* is consciousness. then we are just amalgamations of that "conscious" matter. following this, theres no reason that conscious robots wouldn't be in our future

You are just like an ai, you brain works almost the same in function if not form. It will, the brain would act as the “model” and memory, both are stored in the same place, my context comprehension is just amazing and I don’t have the same problem with continuity since I have a body,even though I’m probably not the “me” that fell asleep last night.

There’s a really interesting study that mapped a fruit fly’s brain in an AI and showed it had the ability to learn well beyond what a fruit fly could. This is mostly due to fruit fly living basically a day or two. The important part is marginally that a fruit fly can be taught relatively complex things (theoretically), but more substantially that this provides even more support that neurology as a biological phenomenon has evolved in a way that can ultimately outlive the physical body.

A bit off topic but kinda relevant, I wish people didn't take ourselves as species so seriously. We're just cool little thinky meat machines, we're not special. We're capable of alot of cool shit, but so are most organisms. I think if a large swath of people stopped thinking of humans as the center of the universe we'd be a lot better off. We're just globs of thinky meat, and I think that's pretty freaking neat!
