Your watch doesn't measure VO2 max. It guesses it. And I say that as a guy who paid actual money for a lab test. So yes, this is coming from me of all people. Here's the problem. VO2 max tells you your ceiling. It tells you nothing about today. You check it once, feel smug or sad for a week, then never think about it again. Meanwhile there's a number sitting right there every single morning that actually tracks your cardiovascular fitness. Your resting heart rate. Why it works: ❤️ A fitter heart pumps more blood per beat, so at rest it needs fewer beats. Lower RHR is literally your engine idling quieter. 📉 Most adults sit between 60 and 100. Regular runners often land in the 50s. Seriously trained hearts drop into the 40s. 📈 The trend beats the number. Going from 72 to 61 over six months is the whole story. 🚨 Bonus: it's an early warning system. If it jumps 5 to 10 beats overnight, you're tired, sick, or fried. Back off. Check it when you wake up. Before coffee. Before your phone stresses you out. Watch the trend. I used to obsess over numbers a machine guessed for me while ignoring the one my own heart was giving me for free. Don't be me. So, no judgement, what's your resting heart rate? Drop it below 👇 #runningtips #runtok #heartrate

Early in my career, I thought nursing meant choosing a bedside specialty, moving around a little, and eventually finding the one you’d stay in for the rest of your career. I had no idea how many other options existed. When I finally discovered remote nursing, I was still hyper-focused on insurance companies because I assumed that was basically all there was. If I could go back and give my 2017 self some advice when I first started looking into remote nursing, it would be: 1. Apply for roles that actually align with your background. 2. For the love of God, don’t use your bedside resume as-is. Your resume needs to target the roles you’re applying for. 3. Stop relying so heavily on job boards. 4. Your first remote job doesn’t have to be your forever job. It can simply be the job that gets your foot in the door. If you’re trying to land a remote nursing job, stick around + ask questions too! I have a free starting point plus extra resources in my link if you need a little help along the way. 🩺👩💻 #remotenurse #softnursing #remotenursing #wfhnurse
