@thehippiedoc: If I had a dollar for everytime someone told me they were taking a GLP-1 from an online company but never got to actually talk to a doctor face-to-face, let alone even communicate with the same doctor each time…well, I’d probably be able to buy a nice car. As a physician who prescribes GLP-1s, here’s what I want you to know. These medications can be incredibly helpful, but prescribing the medication is only one part of treating obesity. Who is making sure it’s right for YOU? Who is looking at your labs? Who is monitoring your side effects? Who is helping you navigate nutrition, muscle preservation, and the changes your body is going through? And who is going to help you if you hit a plateau or eventually come off the medication? You deserve a physician who knows your medical history, understands your goals, and sees you as a whole person, not just a paycheck as they renew your script every month. I understand wanting to save money. But when it comes to your health, the cheapest prescription isn’t necessarily the best value. Don’t just shop for the medication.
