I really liked Lanterns, and though he died extremely early, I think my goat Hal Jordan was perfectly cast and Kyle played him very well. However, I just think they picked the wrong character to make a grounded story with. Green Lantern and the Corps are supposed to be cosmic heroes. But all that aside, I think Lanterns is a step in the right direction and I’m excited to see what John continues to do in Man of Tomorrow

The pa Kent death scene could have been saved and been incredible if they just used the teenage actor for Superman instead of cavil

i personally think Lanterns got the characterization of Hal and John pretty good. yeah it’s not pitch perfect, but Hal is still a cocky asshole who is actually capable of handling the job of being Green Lantern. John they definitely took more liberty with, especially his upbringing with his parents, but again like you said his overall character arc is really well written and Aaron Pierre acted the hell out of it. that’s the thing with adaptations. it’s absolutely okay to make some changes to the characters as long as it fits the overall narrative and services that narrative. and to that extent, i think Lanterns is a great adaptation especially in terms of it’s characters.

The battle of metropolis works completely. Every other iteration had help, this version didn’t.
