A 34-year-old convicted paedophile who repeatedly sexually assaulted a seven-year-old girl in Southend has been jailed for five years and banned for life from photographing any child. Basildon Crown Court heard that Francesco Raimi, of Meadgate Avenue, Chelmsford, carried out the sexual abuse more than a decade ago, targeting the seven-year-old victim for repeated sexual touching. Following an investigation by Essex Police, Raimi denied four counts of sexual assault involving touching, forcing the case through a Crown Court trial. In August, a jury rejected his defence and convicted him on all counts. On 16 October 2026, Judge Siew Loke sentenced Raimi to five years behind bars. The court also made him subject to indefinite sex offender registration and an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order with strict lifetime restrictions.
