@cy_bug2022: Three years ago, this tiny heart changed my life forever. Before Cyrus ever learned to walk, run, or say “Momma,” his heart was already fighting. He was born with congenital heart defects. From the very beginning, our lives became filled with cardiology appointments, echocardiograms, heart monitors, hospital admissions, medications, and the constant uncertainty of what the next appointment would bring. As a baby, his heart worked so hard that it affected his ability to grow. He struggled to gain weight and eventually needed a G-tube to help him get the nutrition his body needed. Every ounce he gained felt like a victory. Today, watching him lie on that exam table for yet another echocardiogram, you would never know how much this little boy has been through. He climbs up without fear, lays still while the pictures are taken, and flashes that sweet smile like it’s just another day. To him, this is normal. To me, it’s a reminder of how incredibly strong he is. Congenital heart disease doesn’t always look dramatic. Sometimes it looks like endless follow-up appointments, routine imaging, medications, monitoring, and learning to celebrate every “stable” report. It means knowing that even when things are going well, his heart will always need to be watched. I will never stop being amazed by this little warrior. His heart may have been born different, but it has never stopped fighting—and neither will we. ❤️ #CHDAwareness #CongenitalHeartDisease #HeartWarrior #HeartMom #coffinsirissyndrome

How do you celebrate the stable reports bc to this day i still worry every day in every appt that the report will be bad and statistically it can be thats not wrong it’s just a heavy thing to carry to walk into every appt with that weight knowing it could always go one of two ways how do you make peace with the face that you are already past the clock and your heart is basically a ticking time bomb for transplant?

My son had small airways disease and he didn’t know anything different than going to appointments and being at the drs office. It’s so hard seeing your precious baby go through these things, wishing you could take away any pain from them. anytime I see a post like this it reminds me of all the times when I felt helpless. My son has improved greatly and we only have to go for check ups now. I’m a stranger on the internet, but I’m thinking of you and this sweet baby and wishing healing and a happy and healthy childhood for this strong guy!
