It's about making your setup look natural, inviting and convincing to passing waterfowl! 🦆 5 TIPS FOR A BETTER DECOY SPREAD ✅ 1. LEAVE A LANDING ZONE Ducks need somewhere to land! Create an open pocket in your spread that gives approaching birds a clear place to finish. ✅ 2. PAY ATTENTION TO THE WIND Ducks generally prefer to land into the wind. Position your decoys and landing pocket to take advantage of their natural approach. ✅ 3. KEEP IT NATURAL Real ducks don't always sit in perfectly spaced rows. Use loose groups and realistic spacing to imitate relaxed, feeding or resting birds. ✅ 4. ADD SOME MOVEMENT A completely motionless spread on calm water can look unnatural. Ripples, jerk rigs and other legal motion devices can help bring your decoys to life. Always check current regulations before using electronic or motorized equipment. ✅ 5. ADJUST TO THE CONDITIONS What works on a wide-open lake might not work in a narrow marsh channel.
