I wish this was practiced more. I’m far from perfect at it. Currently, I’m fucking shit at it. At my best, I take in the moment and realize it’s not about me - to care for the other and not make it worse - allow myself to forgive them so they can forgive their own actions. Yet, isn’t the actions most worth forgiving the ones that drive people away? That end friendships? Relationships? Those weakest moments drive wedges for the people that do not know the pain it is to see your fears play out in actions you regret right before they even start. Forgiveness is hard. It’s worth it, but hard. Not sure I know the feeling of being on the receiving end of a heart felt act of forgiveness for something I’d likely understand not being forgiven. Lots of talk, yeah? Action? We lack it. Time to ante up and just do the damn thing.
