I don’t mean to be rude, but saying “The vast majority of Orthodox Jews do encourage and obtain a higher level of education” is slightly misleading, in my opinion. I’ll speak in very broad terms here, but the largest dynasty in Orthodox Judaism is the Satmar sect, with about twice as many members as the Lubavitch sect. The Satmar people strongly discourage higher education for men and ban it entirely for women. The Ger and Belz dynasties share this view. It is the Yeshivish who become more lenient with higher education for women, and then Lubavitch opens it up much further for both sexes. So, by numbers alone, it is not true that most Orthodox Jews encourage higher education. If what you meant by “a higher level of education” was the religious education that Haredi men are either encouraged or mandated to get, well you and I can agree to disagree on whether we think that in any way counts as preparing one’s mind in a real and tangible way for life on planet earth!🙂

My friend in college was orthodox she was studying religion w me & we’d buddy up on projects. She was an incredible student and would miss some Jewish holidays or come in w a head covering. My college wasn’t “Jewish” but it had a huge population & the ADL reported it as one of the safest for Jews
