@sarahbanksie: One of the biggest things I’m focusing on this pregnancy is prepping myself to NOT TEAR! I must be a big baby, because I hardly tore last time and thought it was excruciating the first couple weeks postpartum. I can’t imagine tearing worse than I did. I’m going to do everything in my power to prep my body to push this baby out with ease. If you have tips, DROP THEM BELOW! #givingbirth #birthprep #tearingduringbirth #pregnancytiktok #pregnant🤰
I was so worried about it tearing I had second degree and honestly that should have been the least of my worries after the hormone crash I didn’t even feel any issue with that tear after it’s like it wasn’t even there for me

I didn’t tear at all with my first and am praying I don’t with my second on the way either bc my recovery really was great!! Did a little perineal massage before but my provider did during labor as well along with warm compress. I did a lot of stretching throughout entire pregnancy and did baby dance the day of! Idk if I just got lucky or if these things made a difference but will definitely be doing again

Tell the dr to do a perineal massage on you the whole time you’re pushing too! It really helped with me!

I had 2 vaginal births with ZERO tear. Didn’t do anything besides a lot of baby dancing…like daily or more lol

I have heard on TikTok that if you push on your side you are less likely to tear! Not sure if it’s true! I pushed on my back and had a second degree

Also learn to control your breathing to lengthen and relax your pelvic floor instead of tightening it

I had a second degree tear first time and barely tore the second time. I focused on stretches, pelvic floor lengthening, and perennium stretches. Made a huge difference

The key seems pushing when YOU feel like you are ready, not just when the doctor tells you you are 10 cm. Doesn’t mean you’re ready. Secondly, use gravity and birth up right or squat. Pushing on your back is working against you
