@kristenlwoodman: MOM, I KNOW YOU THINK YOUR DAUGHTER IS BEING TREATED UNFAIRLY. BUT NOW WHAT?! š„ Her coach plays favorites? Thereās politics? Sheās not getting the opportunities sheās worked for? I know itās frustrating to watch. I know you want to step in and fix it. But hereās my question: Are you helping her find a way forward, or are you both getting stuck in whatās unfair? Because she can spend her entire season complaining, blaming, and waiting for things to change⦠OR SHE CAN FIND A WAY ANYWAY. James 1:2ā4 doesnāt promise the trial will be fair. It teaches us that the testing of our faith produces perseverance, maturity, and steadfastness. But donāt miss this: āLet steadfastness have its full effect.ā That requires PARTICIPATION. You donāt develop perseverance by avoiding adversity. You develop it by learning to navigate it with faith, courage, and ownership. Thatās what we do inside Unshakeable. We donāt just tell athletes to get over it. We equip them with the TOOLS to actually be resilient. To communicate courageously with difficult coaches. To build confidence independent of playing time, approval, or circumstances. AND MOM, THIS IS FOR YOU, TOO. Because watching your daughter struggle without knowing how to help is HARD. Unshakeable gives YOU support and guidance to navigate these situations without fighting every battle for her or allowing your own frustration to fuel hers. And letās be clear: Learning to navigate adversity doesnāt mean tolerating mistreatment. It means responding with wisdom instead of being controlled by frustration. I want to work with athletes AND parents who are DONE waiting for ideal circumstances to pursue excellence. Who want to take ownership, grow through adversity, and FIND A WAY ANYWAY. š„ DM me āUNSHAKEABLEā if youāre ready to equip BOTH of you with the mental skills, biblical truth, and support to navigate the hard seasons with confidence and faith. #volleyballmom #volleyballdad #volleyballtiktok #volleyballtraining #clubvolleyball

Yeah, Iām Gen X, when we heard anything from our parents, it was usually to tell us to hold ourselves accountable for whatever we were complaining to them about. Fortunately or unfortunately for my kids, weāre still kind of like that with them. Donāt complain to me about how the coachās kid gets more playing time if youāre not actively showing him why youād be a better optionā¦will that mean you have to work harder than the coachās kid to get the same opportunity, maybe, but itās also going to make you more skilled than you may have been otherwise. Life aināt fair, so youād better be prepared to work hard to get what you want.
