And it's not just saying goodbye to baby groups and slow mornings. It's going from being the one responds knows every cry and spends all day with them, to waiting for an update at pickup. It's writing down their nap times and favourite foods for someone else and hoping they understand them like you do. It's sitting at work on broken sleep, checking your phone hoping for a photo update. It's worrying about the milestones you might miss, the firsts you'll only hear about afterwards, and the moments you wish you could have been there for. And it's feeling guilty for being sad, when everyone says you were lucky to have had a year off with them. (But it just wasn’t long enough) And you can be grateful for the time you had and still grieve the end of it. Because maternity leave isn't just time off work. It's a whole chapter of your life with your baby, and saying goodbye to that chapter can hurt more than you ever expected. #postpartum #mumsoftiktok #maternityleaveover #maternityleave #mumtok
