@casitahomes: This is Lilly's gorgeous off-grid mountain home by the talented Mazpazz Arquitectura in Costa Rica. Casa Salvaje sits in the cloud forest of Palmichal de Acosta, built by architect Maria de la Paz Alice. The 120 square meter home runs 100% off the grid, powered by solar energy with water drawn from a spring uphill on the property. The entrance is a poured concrete volume the architects call the "vortex", topped with a circular skylight embedded with crystals. Inside, that same circular opening frames the mountain beyond and doubles as a greenhouse for native plants like ferns and orchids. Every material was chosen to weather the tropics and hold its own against the surrounding forest, while the home's geometric forms create quiet contrast with the landscape around
