I've never understood why this is their big gotcha for why Korra sucks. So you mean the antagonist tricked the protagonist into doing something bad, which is a thing that happens in fiction all the time? Big deal. Why am I supposed to hate Korra for this 🤨

also, in a lot of ways, Unalaq was right. that's HOW she got manipulated! she wasn't learning about the spirits and how to deal with them, she's been locked up for so long and she should've been exploring the world!

Honestly I would’ve been pissed if my father and my mentor kept me secluded for majority of my life, that is literally a big part of why she wasn’t spiritual and had such a hard time learning air bending. Like she was SECLUDED SECLUDED! Like no friends besides Naga, she found naga I believe in a storm after trying to run away and they weren’t even going to originally let her keep Naga, they only did because Katara stepped in. Like it would’ve been on sight for everyone after that

They’ll bash Korra for trusting her own uncle but it’s crickets when you bring up how Aang trusted a stranger and ended up getting himself, his friends and wife killed. If it was Korra who did that , we’d never hear the end of it
